I do not know a whole lot about CSS either, but if you use a text editor to look at the contents of some of the existing CSS files available on the net for CoolReader you can see some of the settings available to change to your own preference.
Concerning your favored file formats, CoolReader is the reader for TXT and HTML, and if you add a .FB2 extension to the end of an EPUB filename then CoolReader will read that too. As far as PDF and, EPUB without the extension addition, you are stuck with the same old ADE as usual.
