It depends. It depends on what kind of climate/environmental impact generating the electricity causes.

Hybrid vehicles have a "hidden" environmental impact from both mining to get the rare-earth elements needed to create the batteries and in the disposal of those batteries when used up.

People have railed against nuclear power plants here in the U.S. for ages, but continue right along pumping coal-created CO2 into the atmosphere, probably a larger, longer term impact than figuring out how to store/dispose of nuclear waste....

I'm holding off on the hybrids til they are nuclear.
