HOW?!? The Sony Reader doesn't turn off. It merely goes into standby.
If the Sony Reader did interfere, the pilot would know about this and the flight would be stopped. As it doesn't, it's not an issue. But, as was said before, not every device can be tested and who knows about new devices and what signals they may end up sending out. I'd rather follow the rule and turn off my electronic device(s) rather then risk everyone's life aboard the plane. Just do me a favor for those of you not following the rules, STAY THE HELL OFF OF ANY PLANE I AM ON OR ANYONE I KNOW IS ON!
