In other news, I shot myself in the foot. Told my father I'm miserable with this agency. In no uncertain words, he told me that I should suck it up and if worse comes to worse, to be miserable there. Just like he was miserable for his 28 year career with the state.

Told him that was the most asinine piece of advice he could have given me. He was not amused.
Oh My! I agree it's bad advice. The world and careers are different even from when I started in the workforce. Life is too short to be miserable in a job.
