Chris is a big believer in "lock everything, all the time". He was raised in Chicago. Me, I was raised in a town of barely 2,000 population in the Texas panhandle, where my mother was born in the local museum (before it was a museum, of course), and my uncle was chief of police. My mom had a problem with a peeping Tom (someone who looks in windows) once. She borrowed my uncle's shotgun. He warned her that if she shot anyone, he needed to be in the house first for her to not be charged with anything. Her reply? "If he's not in the house when I shoot him, he WILL BE by the time you get here!"
