I held out until all the details were released about iPad before I made a purchase on a device for my tech books. Most of what I read are A4 size and I eventually decided to get an HP Touchsmart TM2 tabletPC. The 12" screen size is perfect for my PDF books and I can flip the screen around and also use it as a fully functional Windows 7 laptop.

Battery life is pretty good too, while it isn't the 9.75 hours that HP claims it is still about 5.5 hours on typical settings, even more with wifi off.
