thank you for the flowers. it's the little attentions like that that make all the difference, when you're convalescing.

Two samples seems a bit drastic - was there some problem that made them change their procedure?

i don't know if there was an incident, and i don't even know whether this is a change compared to an old policy. they just explained that that way they have a control so there can't be any mistake, as that could be fatal in case of a transfusion.

They only ever take one from me. Luckily, I'm not too bothered about getting stuck with a needle - but I draw the line at having a cotton wool ball taped to the wound. When you've got hairy arms, it's agony taking the tape off afterwards; I much prefer to bleed on my clothes thank you very much.

if i hadn't needed the blood group test it would have been only one for me too. *sigh*
i don't have hairy arms but i don't much like pulling the tape off either. and i'm not going to leave it on there much longer, those cotton balls are bothering me every time i bend my arm.

It doesn't bother me at all either. It bothers the yeti though - to the point he can't watch me have a blood test or an injection!

i'm with the yeti on this one.

I humour them and let them tape the cotton wool on, then remove it as soon as I'm out of line of sight. My arms aren't that hairy, but if I leave the tape on for more than a few minutes I come up in a lovely tape-shaped rash.
