Chapters and page breaks in TXT files
I have a mystery with text files (TXT extension) on my jetBook running firmware .33g...
I have two TXT files. In one, each chapter starts a new page and the chapter title is centered, bolded, and in a larger font than the paragraph text. I did not create this file.
In the second, all the text (chapter titles and paragraphs) displays the same way. (I created this one.)
I've looked at both files in NotePad, NoteTab Light, and Interparse and can't see anything different in them. In both, the chapter titles are separated from the paragraphs by three blank lines. Interparse shows these as CRs and LFs. Here's a sample:
However, for the moment, the only thing I want to meet my eyes are my eyelids when I close them in sleep.<CR>

The sun was high but the bedroom was dark. The thick curtains were drawn tight across the wide windows.<CR>
On my jetBook, the 2 and A Little Later are centered, bold, and in the larger font.
In the second text file, the same formatting leaves the chapter title looking just like the paragraph text. I can even copy a section from the first file to the second and it doesn't display correctly.
The only thing I can think of is that the files are encoded differently, but I don't know how to tell how they were encoded.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve
