press to jump to the indicated TOC item. (The next number shown may be the
chapter number and will not work correctly, if at all

If the numbers in the bottom-middle are different than 1/1. The TOC has more than 1 Page, you use the page turn keys to switch TOC pages.
To
Escape the TOC without changing where you were when you entered: Press the Return (looped arrow next to OK)
Not all books are coded with a TOC, so a blank TOC is just what you will see. Press Return to Escape.
