The CBZ plugin wouldn't do anything to folders. As TGS comments, the 'showdir' tweak only adds an icon for 'SD Card' on the home screen.
If you want folders under Books/News/etc, you will want to use the CTBPlus hack posted in the "Navigation Hack" thread I posted.
