They're a small enough publisher that they might be receptive to polite letters about ebook pricing, formatting and even DRM. They're probably patterning themselves after the big publishing houses because they don't realize there are other options. (I will not be writing to them to ask if they'll drop the price of their kindlebooks to match the paperback. But if someone likes that kind of activism, this would be the sort of publisher who might be willing to listen.)

If they are "patterning themselves after the big publishing houses" as you state, the question of pricing discrepancy still remains. Not only is there quite a discrepancy within Amazon, but a big difference between that of Sony vs. Amazon. The issue must be with the retailers. (?)
