He's saying: "E-book editions of
paperback new releases will be generally priced between $9.99 and $6.99," and that "most Macmillan e-books will still be priced below ten dollars."
I expect mass market PB will be the same price in ebook. I really don't see that $1 at the absolute bottom of the price range is much cause for concern-- especially since he is clearly saying that a) they're going to make more ebooks available without windowing, and b) they're going to engage in dynamic pricing, as well as discount ebooks on the NY Times Besteller list.
I.e. 90% of what is getting many people's knickers in a twist is based on incorrect information, cynical presumptions, and general bitterness, with a dash of entitlement to cheapness....
