Soon I finished the whole shelf and my love for romance novels never declined. In these days, I prefer regency romance and like Julia Quinn, Mary Balogh and Joan Wolf best.
It is as Logseman said. It is easy fare, fast read and allows you to shut your brain off. It is like watching some TV soap or a sitcom, you just watch and relax. Only because I read romance doesnīt necessarily mean I donīt read anything else. In fact, I read a lot of other books. But, be honest people! After a long days, stressing work, during the week, who reads Dostojewski?
I was long ashamed buying these books because of the cover (we all know those Fabio-look-alikes and those half naked women hanging on these guys) and because of the bad standing, these kind of books have. But thank god I grew up and stand to the things I do and read. If anybody has a problem with what I read and thinks I am stupid or what else...I absolutely donīt care. I know who and what I am and my friends know it too.
And concerning the porn/erotica issue..when you start reading romance, you soon read some more or less explicit love scenes. I like reading them and have a few rather hot books too. I dont think there is anything wrong with that. I have a very good friend and she likes to read stuff like that too. So I guess there are at least some women who like it. In fact I prefer it to watching porn. It suits my imagination. And guys, dont tell me there are not a few out here who watched one or two porns. To my opinion there is no real difference. If there wouldnīt be a clientele for romance novels, written erotica or porno movies, why is there an industry providing it? And last but not least, it is your choice what to buy and read. So I think a good ebook-store should definetly have romance and maybe some porn/erotica too.
P.S. sorry for my English, as my interest in this language came after I learned it in school.
Better to read something than not to read at all!

Dear Hallali:
NEVER be ashamed of what you read!! It does not matter whether it is romance or science fiction or parenting or needlepoint!! ALL of us have UNIQUE tastes and they are all great!! An eBook is a personal thing... it is a journey between the author and the reader. Tastes are part of that personal thing. The accolades come FOR reading!! People who read, in my estimation, are generally smarter, have more personality, and are a pleasure to know. So... NEVER EVER worry about what you like! A book is your own private vehicle and nobody should ever judge you for what you read!
By the way, your English is WONDERFUL!! Your sentence structure and grammer are outstanding!!
Do you realize that around 1970 there were two porn films that almost everybody went to see in 3-D. It was all the rage! Now we are back to being more reserved. Porn can be fun. In any case, it is a personal decision.
