Are you charging from the usb port or from an AC adapter? Charging from usb is problematic. As soon as you plug it in, the reader will indicate a full charge, despite not being fully charged. If you are charging from usb, you might not be getting the full charge that you think you have. I would try to charge from an AC adapter before I sent it back. Any adapter for the PSP will work. You can find them for under $10 (U.S.), not sure what that is in Euros.
