I started using my reader once the little red light turned off (I didn't wait for overnight charging as I don't know why it should be better than just waiting until the electronics shut off charging anyways). I'm charging through psp charger. I don't like too much stuff around my work desk that is connected to the pc. I think this depends on your likes.
I've checked the glare screens, and whatever I found it said glare would be reduced (allthough everyone wrote it wasn't bad anyways) but also contrast. I won't get an anti glare screen as I cannot see the benefit to spend somewhere around 10-30 bucks for something that doesn't have the effect I want to see.

So go out and get one. It's really awesome if you like to read and have electronic gadgets (awesome combination).
