I sounds to me like BestBuy is just assuming that they are dealing with a US customer with a permanent address. They probably aren't expecting to have to handle a small delivery window like that, because the person would only be there for a couple days.
Hopefully you'll get it worked out. If I remember right though, mine came without a delivery signature required, which means that if nobody is at the address you gave them UPS will probably leave it on the front step. The only thing I can think of is to contact UPS and request that they return the package to the sender (if they'll do that).
