yvan, i just discovered an extension for firefox which i think you will love. it's called
abcTajpu 1.6.7 and it allows you to easily type accented characters in a web browser either using a context menu or by creating hot-key shortcuts. as soon as i saw it, i thought of you.
(and if you're not using firefox, maybe this is enough reason to switch.
