Greetings!
Hello to all from the Tualatin Valley in Oregon USA! Sitting here with my parrot, Apple (who does like Apple computers so much he's always gnawing on mine after he updates his Tweets and Facebooks), and we're enjoying reading the news and views on this site.
I'm a (currently unemployed) technical writer/graphic artist by day, and an indie publisher/author by night. I've been involved with eBooks and the otherwise electronic delivery of things like user manuals and instructional materials since 1998. I produce books for Kindle, Palm, ePub, and PDF on my Mac and have a partner who is learning to do the MSReader and Mobi formats on PC, since I can't seem to find an affordable "publisher" software solution for the Mac for some of the more popular formats like Mobi. I hope to learn a lot from this community!
I'm still reading eBooks on an old Sony Clie or on my TiBook's desktop, although I'm certainly in the market for a dedicated reader.
