Not contradictory, just not clear.

I mean I don't want anything resembling windows at all. I don't want a stripped down version of Windows 7 or OSX that's tweaked a bit to work with touch navigation.

I want some very lite OS (the iPads is fine if it had multi tasking) that's totally built around touch and just simply doing the few functions I'd use a tablet for--opening books, opening the web browser etc.

Simplicity, minimalist design is what I'd prefer in the OS for a tablet. It's really mainly going to be an e-reader/markup tool for me, and it doesn't need a version of windows etc. to do that.
