we're doing really well. I am getting used to some of hte oddities of his bahaviour, for instance, I cannot completely clean out his litterbox, I have to leave a poop or two or he goes nuts and will hold it! he "buries" his food dish. he's always dragging things into and over it. his vocalizations are REALLY impressive! he has something to say about a lot of things with a lot of different sounds. but this is not like a Siamese yowling if anyone is familiar with that.

Sounds like you're seeing desert environment behavior (litter box oddity) or marking his territory. Ditto with food dish internment. This is typical big cat behavior in the wild. He is probably establishing his own territory in your house. Errr.... is he fixed? Wondering about aggression - at his size.
