So of course I looked for information on the Web, and several sources seem to agree that you can plant the seeds in February or March, but indoors of course. this linky (in French for you, but anyone interested can get the English version from the page too) should give you a hand. It's for The Rooftop Garden Project, they give you tips to cultivate garden plants on roofs and balconies, by making growers with water tanks from recycled materials. I already made herb growers from recycled 4 litre water bottles, and they work tremendously well. No reason why growing your own tomatoes shouldn't be easy!
