Nope, I had this problem on a recent trip to Phoenix. It was quite cool (low 60's), but bright. If I flipped the reader so that the screen was not in direct light or covered it momentarily with the slipcase as the screen refreshed, the text was perfect. Definitely a phenomenon of the light, not temperature.
