The error message is not new. In a few cases Fictionwise does indeed check the ip-address. This happened to me once last year.
Try using alwaysvpn (www.alwaysvpn.com, $8,50). It seems a lot of websites filter on the ip-addressen from free proxy and vpn services.
I use alwaysvpn for Fictionwise and B&N, until now without a problem.
