Thus, I got to Bangalore 48 hours after leaving Pittsburgh (instead of the scheduled 24).
I had US power adapters with me. I had both styles of Indian plug adapters. But I didn't have anything I could use to plug in at the hotel in France! So, by the time I got to Bangalore I'd completely run through the charge on my PRS-700. That represents about two solid days of reading (12 hours or more, each), or 6 long-ish novels. A device that only goes 12 hours between charges would have run out long before.
Shorter battery life really would be a problem. For me, anyway.

Out of curiousity, what occasioned the trip to Bangalore? I ask because my wife is from there and I have developed an interest in the economic and social life of the area. I like my 700, but I've found its on the lower end of the e-ink reader spectrum in terms of battery life, most likely because of the light. I can generally get a week of heavy use out of it if I limit my use of the light as opposed to two weeks out of my old PRS500 or the, I kid you not, months I've gotten out of my Pocketbook 360.
