1st question

Does your computer recognize your PEz?
Open Windows Explorer, you should see 1 (or 2, if the SD card is in place)
removable drives. Linux should auto-mount the drives (shows as a USB stick Icon)
Explore the drives, you should see the Users Guide, another PDF with Maybe some square boxes (a Chinese font required). OK to delete this one. Been known to cause problems with older version of Calibre when getting a list of books from your device).
Until you get your computer to recognize the PEz (drives), don't worry about Calibre.
Calibre settings
If you did not answer the original Installation message device type with "Endless Ideas BeBook Mini", run the startup wizard again (The arrow next to Preferences)
After that
Preferences: Conversion: Page setup: Output profile: "Hanlin V5"
I like the Right Margin at 16px so EPUB page numbers are mostly in the clear
and I set the base fonr size under look and feel: to 16pt to make it appear tiny.
