I don't remember a time I didn't read. I know some of my favorites as a child were The Black Stallion, Nancy Drew, and Dr. Seuss. I started reading my older sister's romance novels when I was around 11 or 12, which did not really please my parents.
I discovered the Lord of the Rings at 14, which started my obsession with fantasy and
sci-fi. My parents were much happier with that until they saw how much money my reading habit cost.
