Kindle Addict,
From everything I have read on Kindle Boards, owners and Kindle Customer Service are advising Kindle owners to install small batches of 50 or less documents or books at a time to their Kindles. Also to do it over days rather than all at one time. Because of the indexing involved, too many done at a time will lock up your Kindle and make it unusable.
This is how I understand it.
