I think that is skewed though. Remember back then alot of babies died during child birth or very young because they didn't have today's medical knowledge such as sonograms and pre-natal vitamins. Also, there were no vaccines for childhood diseases.
However, if a person made it past the first 5 years or so they would survive with a similar life span as we have today.
But, when you average it out with all the people that didn't live past 2 the average mortality age looks very low.
Actually, there is a whole new movement of the
paleolithic diet (caveman diet) that is getting steam. basically it talks about eating natural and raw food rather than all the processed sugar and carbs that most people eat today which many think is what causes so many of today's modern diseases like arteriosclerosis and diabetes.
Granted I don't think they advocate raw meat.
