I had US power adapters with me. I had both styles of Indian plug adapters. But I didn't have anything I could use to plug in at the hotel in France! So, by the time I got to Bangalore I'd completely run through the charge on my PRS-700. That represents about two solid days of reading (12 hours or more, each), or 6 long-ish novels. A device that only goes 12 hours between charges would have run out long before.
Shorter battery life really would be a problem. For me, anyway.

Longer battery life if better, of course. Things may happen. sometime, we have to compromise between reading time and other things, like wireless, reactive screen...
