Wow, you guys are cynical aren't you...
I know of "carbon footprint" because I am trying to be "green." Both my husband and I are looking for small ways we can reduce our carbon footprint. That is why when my husband brought home the article on Cherrypal, I was interested.
I am 47-years-old and was laid off, for the second time, from my job. So, I decided to go back to school and become a teacher. I have one more exam to take before I get my certificate. I wanted a laptop so I could study anywhere, but I didn't want to spend tons of money.
Anyway, I digress...like with anything I buy over the internet, I do my research, good and bad, and then make an informed decision whether to buy. Yes, I read on Cherrypal's website that their computer has a "small carbon footprint," but I already knew that from the article I read and believe it or not, I already knew what a "carbon footprint" was. If you don't know what a "carbon footprint" is, then you've been living under a rock.
Anyway, I knew of your website, I found it when doing my research, and all I wanted to do was pass on my experience. I do not work for Cherrypal, which is what you were insinuating from your "sounds like marketing copy" to me. And, I wasn't trying to compare anything...certainly not the Africa to the Bing...just telling my experience.
Like my husband, you seem a little chauvanist when a woman talks about the envirnoment. My husband gives me grief too; like guys are the only ones who can understand the envirnoment. I read "Gorgeously Green," a few years ago and he poked endless fun at me.
Similarly, in a very guy-sort-of-way, my husband told me to buy a computer at Best Buy; but I decided to give Cherrypal a try because I liked their "one in every lap" approach to computers, and I don't need a DVD drive, etc. Oh, I'm sorry, does that sound too marketing oriented for you--but it's the truth. In today's world every person should have an affordable computer.
For me, however, the best "green" aspect to the Cherrypal is the price. I've had mine for a few weeks and love it.
