Running into problems with update on Kindle International from v2.2.2 -> v2.3

According to the person who worked on this before me (I wasn't the one who rooted it), only thing done was usbNetworking install, which has been uninstalled with the uninstaller program now. Not sure, but I'm suspecting that somebody during device hacking might have experimented with start.sh manual modifications/tweaks.

Any other idea of what causes checksum failure for start.sh file and where I could find original version of start.sh (or some other way to fix it)?
