The only reason she ever went to pre-school was because of the cancer my husband came down with.....I couldn't do both.
In hindsight, even that was a blessing. Mom found a wonderful school, and by the time she was in kindergarden, she was ready. More than I can say for many kindergardeners.
Had she stayed with me......she would have still been a 'baby'.
Even now she gets away with stuff her mom would never let her do.......I just sit back and laugh........

As an elementary educator, I'm a firm believer in pre-school. As a mom, it was really hard for me to sign the kids up for pre-school. I wanted to keep them a baby as long as possible. Thankfully, I did the right thing and sent them to school. They were much better for it.
My husband and I have talked about what we want to do when he retires, whether to move back to Florida, etc. I told him I want to stay by my kids so that I can babysit my grandchildren and relieve the kids from having to pay for childcare. Unfortunately, Shannon tells me she can't see herself getting married or having children and I KNOW I'll be way too old to babysit for Ryleigh's kids.

Hopefully, Shannon will change her mind when she meets the "Special Someone".
