I *am* the copyright owner. The publisher was rather desperate at the time to publish the book (which nowadays he wouldn't be because times have changed) and I negotiated in the contract that I owned the copyright. The publisher has all marketing rights, which is as it should be.

I shall certainly look further into this. Thanks for the heads up!
