I'm not seeing the point of this argument.
It's always good to have a healthy dose of skepticism about claims about devices that are in development. Pretty much every company in history over promises and under delivers at least some of the time when talking about future products.
Just ignore the hype, wait until devices are out, and see if the actual performance fits your needs. I couldn't care less if I "trust" a company--they're all out to make as much money as possible, and none should be trusted. I care if their product fits my needs and budget. If it does I'll buy it regardless of what their marketing, early specs etc. were.
