I meant to post the specific problems and really have no excuse for not doing so apart from putting it on the backburner due to work. But I think I have figured something out and will know for sure when I get spend more time on it when I return. In any case, not a complete failure-- I managed a few volumes of a manga simply through pdfs (the print is large enough unlike the other comic I had tried to do up) and transfered it over.
