On a broader note, you might want to reconsider the jetBook if those uses are very important to you. The jetBook is primarily intended for reading unencrypted text files. It accepts a wide variety of file formats, but tends to defeature them to a lowest common denominatory for display.

I seriously need to reconsider this purchase if there's no way to read netlibrary or overdrive library ebooks.

Should have done more research I guess...
