I'm patiently waiting for my pain medication to kick in.

Seriously, I wanted to let you all know that I am doing well from my surgery on Wednesday. We did have to drive through yet another blizzard that dumped an additional 8 inches of snow on top of the 30 inches we already had to reach the hospital Wed. morning and what was supposed to be a relatively straight forward 1 to 1 1/2 hour procedure took 4 hours but otherwise everything went smoothly. I know that there has been a lot of debate about the US healthcare system but in my case, it's been nothing but great. My doctor went above and beyond to do what was best for me and my recovery and not what was easiest for her. They did kick me out of the hospital after only one day, which made me a little nervous, but I was very glad to be home and in my own bed. Although, I am sure my family is getting awfully tired of running cups of tea up to me.
