I am being reasonable. If people are making blanket statements, then they have to expect people to point out that their positions are rather extreme. Moreover, quite a few - but not all, sure - of the points made against Apple are entirely valid and will have a real effect on people's purchasing decisions.
For example - I have no problem with people buying Apple, but they should know about Apple's continued use of propitiatory DRM schemes and other lockin methods, which will limit their future device choices. I apply this fairly to all uses of DRM, not just Apple's. (Sure, I don't criticise say ADE as much as single-vendor lockins, but that's because it at least gives you some flexability in device choice).
And my mother? Heh. You really, really don't want to go there (No, she is not "nice").
