With the flip case like pictured where the unit slips into a leather pocket when closed the entire unit is protected with the exception of a small cutout that would be open to access the scroll wheel. I live in Western Oklahoma where at times it is extreamly windy and dusty and I would like to have something that would cover the top and protect the USB jack and the SD port from dust/dirt. Especialy since one thing I am looking forward to being able to do with this is take it camping with me when I am out on my motorcycle.
Dear kdf:

You are not wrong of course, but in reality the Stylz case does a pretty good job of protecting the USB port and SD card slot. You are right that it will not keep out dirt and debris totally... but there is a good solid 1/4 inch of hard edged case to protect these items from penetration or accidentally breaking the SD card slot witha side force on the SD card. It is recessed plenty to take care of almost all problems of that nature.

SD card slots are pretty hard to ruin with dirt and debris in actuality. You may occasionally want to observe and see if anything has worked down in there... but that is about it.

I know of no zippered cases yet.
