My attraction came as a result of new features and advanced technologies that did not exist in the old style tablets. The capacitive screen, 8 cell battery (has to get pretty good battery life) the led backlit screen, it's Lenovo (to me a good brand).
I really like the iPad, but if I got one I would require the 64 gig version (want to put all music, photos...etc) so it would be $700.... At $450 this would be perhaps a good compromise. I like this one better than the Asus eee tablet, and feel it is a better value.
I of course realize I can get more power for less money. I build my own desktops and could build something 3 times the power of it.... but I am not planning to use a tablet as a work station. I have a desktop for that.....
Anyway..........The ideapad U1 looks very cool, but price and the odd OS throw me off of it.... at least for now, I am of course open to change
