I have the same problem - I'm a Brit living in Denmark - can I get ebooks in Denmark? Well, yes, a few, but they're in Danish. Can I get English ebooks - not on your life. Even English pbooks cost twice as much here - but at least you can get hold of them - through amazon.eu if from nowhere else.
As someone else said, in such circumstances we have to do what we have to do!
