Adding an SDHC card reader and USB port would cost them a couple of dollars (maybe less, economy of scale). There is simply no reason to leave off something as obviously useful as SD and USB. These are not convenience items to me, they are must haves. The version 1 iPad is a no-sale for me. I am really hoping the next version corrects some of the current shortcomings. I really do think they are on to something with the iPad, they got a lot right but messed up the easy stuff...
