sabredog, perhaps if you can't buy books from Diesel thanks to their super duper restrictions, you could try at other stores? I've had no problems buying from Books on Board (for now!) and Fictionwise.

Frankly, it boggles the mind, and insults me quite a bit that these short-sighted publishers won't accept my money even when I beg them to take it. They're just driving desperate readers to resort to browsing in the Darknets!

In my part of the world, piracy is such a way of life now because the producers of various products see it fit to restrict us perfectly legitimate customers from getting stuff. We're often treated like an afterthought; movies would come to us later, books - if we're lucky - would come a year after the release. But, ironically, piracy changed the cinemas and now we sometimes get movies earlier!
