Thanks Neil, maybe I'll go for a real book then! Unfortunately my post always seems to take forever to get here from abroad, and sometimes gets lost. *sigh*

Yep, Golding was one of the greats. Everyone knows Lord of the Flies of course, but I'd say his other work deserves more attention.
