I don't agree with this - what does intuition and imagination have to do with the perception of screen quality?

This is true - EPD screens do suffer in low light conditions. I've had an Iliad for a few years now and it's screen quality is up there with the best of them. However, if you try to read it in low lighting conditions, you will be disappointed.
