So here's my question: If so many people dislike it, why isn't anyone leaving? I'm not being a smarta$$, I ask the same thing of fellow Illinoisans who also aren't leaving despite the fact that, with no jobs, there's really nothing keeping them here.

I LOVED living in the Fort Lauderdale area. Of course, we were closer to the Everglades and not in the real touristy areas so that might have a bit of an impact. The weather was wonderful - I never even owned a coat. The kids wore t-shirts, shorts, and tennies (school uniforms) to school every day, so my clothing budget was nearly non-existant.
I do need to state that I am currently dealing with my second 20+ inches of snow storm since late December and Ryleigh hasn't had school for several days and will probably be out of school much of next week. All of which could be drastically glorifying my memories of living in South Florida.

I had a stiff neck a couple of weeks ago that still gives me twinges every now and then. I hope you feel better soon! Hugs!
