There's nothing wrong with repeatedly reworking your opening, to get it just right. You want the introduction of your book to catch the reader and draw them in.
Of course, if you're on the forty-ninth revision, and haven't moved past that, there may be some other issues...
Maybe you're over-thinking it. Consider moving on, and worry about tightening the opening later.
