I've got my iLiad for roundabout 2 years now and I can't see any decline.
If I compare iLiad to Kindle, Cybook or any other device, it's more or less identical.
hmm this answer leaves me a little bit confused. I am pretty sure now that i have a defective device cause the difference between the readers is immense ...

Think i'll have to think about getting another iLead cause if it would have a better screen (and sometimes connect to my WLAN but thats another story) it would be my "travelling" favorite at the moment ...
