Kindle DX RS232 Connector

Hi,

based on informations about the serial console for DX, I wanted to have a smart way to connect to PC.
First I thought about using the headphone connector for RS232 because I don't need audio, but on the other hand you never can tell.

So I searched for a way to have a second connector, because there is less space I recyled a MP3 player connector (short neck!) and did some cutting and drilling (see attached files).

Now just waiting for the USB-RS232 TTL3.3V adapter to arrive ...

Update:
USB Adapter works fine
Serial Settings are: 115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no flow control
