I wouldn't say it's unstable, exactly. It just WILL NOT QUIT. No matter what. It completely kills my UI in 10.6.2 and the only way out is to ssh in from another machine and kill the login window process. Even killing all the calibre related processes doesn’t give me back control of my UI.
Even when the app is working, I can't switch to another applications, command-tab doesn't work, and even clicking an app in the dock will not give me that app's menu bar, though there I might be able to actually use the app's window and scroll it, but not type into it.
If it would crash, I'd be a lot happier.
It is also INSANELY slow to load a book. Take 20-30 seconds to open a 200K text file on a quad core Xeon MacPro with 6GB of RAM.
When opening viewer windows, some of the windows would never close.
I have some files named, for example, "01 The Mists of Avalon" (so it would sort right in the series). Calibre can't get metadata on this until I take out the '01', which seems odd.
